ClubMX Training Facility in South Carolina

clubmx south carolinaIn today’s rapid paced motocross scene, local tracks and clubs are opening, closing, and reinventing themselves nearly every other day. One of the newest facilities, ClubMX, opened its multiple tracks and 100 acres of land to the public motocross community in 2010 – and they are committed to serving their neighborhood in Charleston, South Carolina.

A joint venture that is the brainchild of Brandon Haas and Zach Osborne, the idea of ClubMX wasn’t dreamt up until 2009. After a year of hard work and dedication, the pair were able to assemble a solid team of motocross professionals – including investors, mechanics, instructors, and security – and the dream quickly became a reality.

The facilities offered at ClubMX are nothing short of top shelf. The front track, capable of accommodating amateur and pro-national events, blends sand and clay to form a changing, fast-paced racing terrain. As the layout of the track is revised on a regular basis, riders can never be quite sure of what to expect from the front track at ClubMX.

ClubMX’s back track offers a GP-style sand track that, according to the ClubMX website, “is guaranteed to be one of the roughest, most physically demanding tracks in the nation.” Kept in race-worthy condition seven days a week, the track features plenty of ruts, whoops, and rough terrain to test the mettle of the most highly skilled riders. This track varies greatly from the front track on the facility, allowing riders to mix and match in order to experience the best of both worlds. An average lap on the facility’s back track clocks in at around the 2:45 mark.

Smaller, extracurricular tracks also exist at ClubMX. Designs like their figure eight, oval, or their corner track help riders progress beyond the basic fundamentals of motocross racing and give them a start on learning some of the more advanced techniques of the sport. These extra tracks are regularly used in training and practice sessions at ClubMX, giving all riders the opportunity to hone their skills in a controlled, professional environment.

ClubMX also offers plenty of accommodations for overnight guests. A newly built housing unit, capable of sleeping nine adult guests, is fully furnished with an oven, two refrigerators, two bathrooms, a living area, and more. An on-site fitness center is available for guests to continue their regular exercise routines, and a large pool lets visitors relax in the afternoon sun. 19 different RV sites are also available on the grounds.

Dedicated to their commitment of serving local riders, the two main tracks at ClubMX are open to the public every Wednesday afternoon. Practices are held from 12 pm to 5 pm, and require a $25 fee per rider. Wednesdays are the only regularly scheduled open practice days, so all riders in the area of Charleston are encouraged to attend as much as possible. Fans can stay tuned to ClubMX’s Facebook, Twitter, or their website for more information and regular updates.
