Oregon’s Indoor Enduro Challenge

oregon indoor enduroEnduro racing is one of the most exhausting, demanding, and challenging events in all of the popular racing sports. A trial designed only for riders of the highest skill level, Enduro races pit riders up against a grueling marathon race, usually spanning several hours. Many of these events also combine elements from motocross, supercross, and arenacross – which make it even tougher for the competitors. All of these elements make for some exciting action to watch, however, and Xtreme Indoor Enduro promises to live up to all expectations.

The recently announced Enduro event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 10, 2012. It will take place inside the Compton Arena at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, a venue that is located in Central Point, Oregon. The doors open to the public at 6:30 pm on race day, and the main event’s opening ceremonies begin promptly at 7 pm. Rider practices begin at 9 am, with heats and qualifiers starting at 11 am. A mandatory riders meeting and track walk will be held at 3 pm.

For those who are not familiar with the Enduro genre of motocross racing, just think about it as an extreme off-road race of the highest caliber. The event in Central Point, Oregon will include four different amateur classes: Beginner, Vet-Plus 30, Expert, and TrialCross, but each specific Enduro hosts a different format.

Apart from offering an exhilarating night of motocross action, proceeds from the Xtreme Indoor Enduro event at Jackson County Fairgrounds will be donated to benefit Matt Jensen and the Jensen family. Matt Jensen, an avid motocross rider and enthusiast, was born with an extremely rare condition known as Tuberous Sclerosis, which has caused the formation of a large facial angiofibroma. In order to remove the growth, Matt will have to undergo numerous surgeries throughout 2012. As expected, treatment of this condition will not be cheap, and the Jensen family can use all the financial help and support they can find.

The cost to enter the Xtreme Indoor Enduro event at Jackson County Fairgrounds is $50 per class, which includes one mechanic pass. There is a $5,000 pro purse up for grabs, as well as a $2,000 award to the night’s winner, so the event could certainly add up to a nice payday for a few competitors. A KTM 450SX will also be raffled off to one lucky winner at the event, giving the fans a chance to partake in the night’s riches. Spectator admission to the event is $15 per person, with kids 6 years old and younger admitted free of charge.

Many local and national sponsors have come forward to join the Xtreme Indoor Enduro event at Jackson County Fairgrounds. A shortlist of confirmed sponsors include Motorcycle Riders Association, OMA KTM, Oregon Cash Company, Inc., Steahly Off Road, Stagg Plumbing, Caldera Tap House, Motorcycle Superstore, Stonetech, and Jim Sigel Automotive. Additional sponsors are expected to sign on as the event draws closer.
